- 1940 Jr. High class of Barboursville, West Virginia
- Hope Coyer
Hope Coyer is 2nd from the left on the 2nd row of students in this picture of the Barboursville, WV Jr. High class of 1940. Her full name was Frances Hope Coyer according to West Virginia birth and census records. She was born in Cabell County, WV in 1925. Her family, Henry, Bessie and younger brother Arnold Leon Coyer, lived in Union, WV in 1930 and 1940. In 1930 her father worked at the Nickle plant. Bessie’s brother Emery and wife Lillian lived with them. By 1940, the family was still in Union and Mr. Coyer was now an inspector at the Nickel plant. Unlce Emery was divorced but still living with the Coyers. I believe Hope married a Jesse Williams; there is one death record of a 1 day old baby girl dying in Huntington, Cabell, WV with mom Hope Coyer and father Jessie Williams. A Hope Williams died in Huntington, WV in 2006, likely the same person. I’d love to hear more from the family.
